Club Challenges

What are they?
Club Challenges are a bi monthly competition, which is open to all club members and each one is based on a particular turning theme.  Points are awarded on each challenge and are accrued for determine annual placement (full club challenge rules:  challenge_rules.pdf).  Club members can enter their work for judging in one of three categories:
  • Novice: members with up to 5-years experience.
  • Intermediate: members with more than 5-years experience.
  • Open: members who have won the intermediate category in a previous year.
2024/5 Challenge Subjects and Judging Dates
  • Decorated bowl judged on 12 July 2024
  • Salt pig and spoon judged on 13 September 2024
  • Children's toy judged on 8 November 2024
  • Napkin rings judged on 10 January 2025
  • Decorated goblet judged on 11 April 2025​​

Coming up... 2025/6 Challenge Subjects
  • Lidded hollow form with finial judged on 18 July 2025
  • Three legged stool judged on 19 September 2025.  Note:  this can be any size from doll house, plant pot holder through to a stool sized to sit an adult.
  • Christmas icicles judged on 21 November 2025
  • Potpourri/pomander judged on 16 January 2026
  • Decorated Easter egg judged on 20 March 2026
