Professional Demonstrators
The club arranges for professional demonstrators to come to the club for demonstration days, which normally take place on a Saturday immediately after a club night on the Friday (there are exceptions). Check the Events Calendar page for the current schedule.

Saturday, 11th October 2025: Rick Dobney

Rick visited the club and managed to fit a lot into the day with demonstrations of turning an off-centre bowl and a multi-axis vase. Rick then turned & painted a hollow form, which he then turned an aluminium finial for it.

Our very own club member and professional woodturner Helen Bailey stepped in at short notice and demonstrated turning a table lamp base and a finial angel.
Saturday, 12th July 2025: Emma Cook, The Tiny Turner

Emma visited the club and showed us how to turn a hollow form with reversible lid. Emma than experimented with airbrushing techniques. In the afternoon Emma turned a three-sided form including stand, then an off-centre pendant.
