April's club night saw club member Steve Evans bring in his Shaper Origin to demo. Thank you Steve for an interesting demonstration and insight into the Shaper, which is definitely an impressive bit of kit.

March's club night was an auction with over 120 lots for sale. A good evening, with lots of deals had.

All 3 of the club's lathes were out for members to get hands-on - thank you to Kevin Purdy, John Christie and other members for offering guidance. There was also the scroll saw with Ray Harrison demonstrating and offering advice.
Friday, 10th January 2025: Martin Stacey - Splatter Plates

Martin demonstrated the technique he uses for splatter plates - applying paint at various points on a plate and letting the centrifugal force, from spinning on the lathe, distribute the paint. It was really interesting to see the different effects that could be achieved from layering the paints and where the paints were placed in relation to the centre. The trusted cardboard box contained the splatter, so the room was not at risk of being re-decorated. Martin also did some off-centre turning on a couple of the plates after painting. An interesting club night, thank you Martin.
